Today, most television programs have people called "Writers" and work with something called a "Budget".

Bah!

J.P. didn't need such frivolities.

For J.P. Patches Show, Chris, Bob, Joe and the rest of the crew would get into a huddle a few minutes before air time and decide what they were going to do that day. No script, no rehearsals, no second takes.

This added to the fun. J.P.really didn't know much more about what was going to happen than the Patches pals watching.

"Who, when he saw the first sand or ashes, by a casual intenseness of heat, melted into a metalline form, rugged with excrescences, and clouded with impurities, would have imagined, that in this shapeless mass would turn into smething useful like a glass? Neat huh? I mean without glasses we couldn't see or have anything to put Kool-Aid in!
